10 Keys to Personal Power
 1. Clarity

2. Competence
"If you commit to excellence, opportunities will always come your way. The harder you work, the better you get."

What this is trying to say is that when you work hard for something, something good will always come your way. In the end when you have everything you've ever wanted, you will look back in life and see that all the hard work really does pay off. Of course, this all will happen if you stay committed and keep your word for it as well. You can't say you're going to do something nut never let it happen. If you write down goals, make sure you accomplish them. It may take a few time for you to accomplish them, but it's going to be worth it in the long run. You gotta have patience for everyone won't succeed at first. You have to work for it and go with the flow. Don't try to rush into anything because you're going to be so stressed. With that being said, you must have patience. Everything is going to fall into place when you have the right mindset towards it. You must be and stay committed to your career. Keep your word that you are going to finish high school. You are going to become something in life no matter how long it takes. Keep telling yourself that you can do it, and you actually can do it no matter what comes in your way. Don't let the negative things affect you either. Keep positive thoughts in your head at all times and many opportunities will come your way.

3. Concentration
 "."

I believe that this is an important one because the more concentrated you are, the more things you will get done quicker. When it comes to being in school, you have to be concentrated to understand what the teacher has to say. If you spend the class talking and it comes to doing work, you are going to be confused because you chose to talk rather than pay attention. If you want to achieve a specific goal or maybe more than one, you have to stay focused. This will help you have the mindset of wanting to accomplish it. Concentration will help you with work, school, or anything you decide to want to do. If you work as a nurse or doctor, you must stay concentrated to helping the patient and giving them the right medication they need to take. In school it's the same thing. You concentrate hard in a specific class so you can get that A you want or the B. Don't let people distract you from doing your job. Nothing can possibly go wrong with anything, just stay focused. No bad grades, no being sent to the office, no getting in trouble for not doing your homework. Concentration will help you succeed in life. You're mindset will be towards those goals of yours. If you stay committed nothing will go wrong.

4. Common Sense
  • Train your mind
  • think things through
  • listen to your intuition
  • learn from setbacks

Sometimes we have the ability to really make a simple situation much more complicated than it has to be. Where as if we slowed things down a bit and used some common sense everything would appear different to us When one  has common sense one is able to think through stuff before one does something. It shows how you are a person who listens to others thoroughly. One is able to understand and perceive things easily. People who do not have common sense actually do bad with most things they do.  If they do not have common sense one can already believe that they are the kind of people who do not listen or even pay attention. This makes that person look bad because they aren't good thinkers. Like the phrase "think before you act" is a good example of knowing what common sense is. If you did something bad to someone and the nest day they do it back to you, you wouldn't like it. Before you do something, think it through. Ask yourself if that's something you want to say or something you want to do. For you it may be a good choice or you feel it will be the right thing to say, but to other people words and actions will hurt. Treat people the way you want them to treat you. Be the bigger person and if they don't accept you for you, then you can always move on with life.

5.  Creativity
"Except the fact that every human being is a genius. The hallmark of creativity is asking questions. The people who are most creative ask the most questions."

6. Consideration
"The quality of your relationships with other people will determine your success in life."
"Develop the people skills you need to become a better communicator.  Take courses in listening, speaking, etc."
"If you were to learn one new word a day, within 5 years, you’ll be the best educated person in history."

To have consideration you must accept what other people have to say about a certain topic. Everyone is entitled to have their own opinion and we must learn not to take it personal. You must respect the other person's feelings whether it's being in a relationship or just being in a class with many people. Take in what someone has to say and if you disagree you can always give your side of opinion. Everyone must learn to listen first before communicating. Lets say you're having a class discussion on a topic and one of your classmates are talking. If you don't pay attention to what they have to say, you might repeat the sentence they mentioned or say something out loud you shouldn't have said. That's why its good to take in consideration what someone says because you can get a better understanding of it more.
7. Consistency
"Dependable, steady predictable work is always superior to fast spurts of work."
Be consistent in your relationships, your family, friends, your boss, your work.  Be the person that people can depend upon.  That if you say you’ll do something you do it.."

To be consistence it means to always be on track and doing what you have to do. You must be consistence when it comes to accomplishing a goal you have. If you only work on that goal for one day maybe two, it won't be accomplished because you weren't consistence enough. You must stick to what you say or no accomplishments will get done. If you say you are going to do something, then do it. Not everything in life is promised so if it's something you love, then you must work extra hard for what you want. If at first you don't succeed, then try again. Don't give up because you couldn't get it the first time. It will take time for certain goals to be accomplished because that's how life is. We must learn to have patience and wait for when good comes to us. If you keep your mind towards that goal you want to accomplish, then you are one step closer to achieving it. Every goal you must have will take time and patience for you to accomplish them. Never give up because with the many accomplishments you do, the closer you are to achieving your dreams.

8. Commitment
"No success is possible without commitment.  The ability to commit yourself whole heartily is the basis of achieving all success."
"Become totally absorbed in your work.  Be totally committed."

To have commitment it means to always do what you say you're going to do. Keeping your word shows a lot about yourself because you will do what you have to do to get somewhere. Accomplish a specific goal you have or become really successful in the future. In order for that to happen, you must stay committed to your word. Don't say something and later not end up doing it. For specific jobs out there the manager wants to hire someone that will be committed to coming to wok on time and not miss days because you woke up late. If you really want that job then stay committed to it. Arrive at the time needed and get the job done. Its the same thing with school. You have to be committed in passing your classes and doing good on the tests if not then there's really no point. Commitment starts with you. Are you willing to do what it takes to accomplish your goals? No matter how long you will keep your head high and keep positive thoughts in your mind.

9. Courage
"The fear of failure is the single greatest reason for failure in life."

To have courage you must not let the fear take you over. You have to conquer your fears in order to be able to do what scares you the most. To have courage it means you aren't afraid of standing up for what you believe in. If you see someone bothering another person, you will go up and tell them to leave them alone. You will be able to stand in front of an audience and give your explanation on what you believe is right. If you let your fears take over you, then you won't get anything done in life. There's this quote is the movie Cinderella Story and it states "Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." It refers to baseball or softball and its for the players to remember if you keep the thought of striking out in your mind, then it will keep you from playing the game. You will be too focused on striking out rather than actually having fun and enjoying the game. It's good to have courage because then you will feel you can accomplish anything in the world. Tell yourself you can do it and at the end of the day, you will accomplish anything. Do what scares you the most because after you will feel good about yourself. You won't be afraid of accomplishing anything else.

10. Confidence
"You only get confidence by doing things over and over again ."

I believe confidence has a really big meaning to life. Everything that you ever accomplish and finish during your life was because you believed in yourself. You told yourself "I can do it" even if you felt like you couldn't. You believed in yourself even if other people doubted you throughout life. You always kept your head high and not let people's negative thoughts get to you. You believed in yourself when you took the finals for your school. You believed in yourself when you turned in those assignments for your grade to be good. If you ever get into the position where you feel like you won't be able to accomplish anything in the world, look at where you are now. Look at how far you have come and tell yourself that it's too late to back down now. Have confidence in your work, your relationship, your education etc. If there are people out there telling you you can't do it, don't take it personal amd let it tear you down. In fact, prove them wrong. Show them that no matter how many times they doubted you, you still came up on top. If you let people's words get to you then you won't be able to go on living life. Those words will be replaying in your mind that you will soon believe the lies these people are telling you. Let the words be an inspiration that YOU CAN DO ANYTHING. You will get that dream job of yours, you will become successful as anyone else in this world. Success starts with believing in yourself.

Reflection:
I will keep these 10 keys to personal power throughout my life because they will remind me how to become successful. These 10 keys will help not only me but anyone who takes the time to apply these to their life. The keys that I'm applying to my life is confidence, courage, commitment, and concentration. These have helped me become a better person for myself. I am confident in myself that I will pass my classes and be successful in the time to come. I have the courage to talk to my teachers about extra credit and how to bring my grade up if I'm not doing so good. I participate more in classes and try not to be afraid when giving a presentation. I stay committed to my work and make sure I get all my work done even if it's late. I make sure that all my grades are doing good and I'm not slacking off like I used to do. I concentrate more in my classes to understand what the teacher is talking about. If I don't understand I call my teacher over to make sure she clarifies it a little bit more for me. I don't talk as often as I did back then. I can say these have helped me become a better me. I will continue to keep these with me so I can always keep my head up while trying to accomplish the goals I have set for myself. I don't let people's negative thoughts get to me because I know I will accomplish anything as long as I work hard for it. If I work towards my goals everyday, I will be one step closer to achieving them.

Winter Break

For winter break  I mostly stood home. I did go Christmas shopping at the mall but I didn't find anything that interested me, plus there was a lot of people and I didn't want to wait in the long lines. One exciting thing I did was attend my grandpas surprise birthday party on December 29, 2017. It was so nice to see all my family together with nothing but smiles on there face. We ate tacos and danced the whole night. For Christmas we did the usual. I made champurrado (hot chocolate) and we bought donuts to eat as well. Then, we stood up until midnight for santa clause to bring our presents. We all took turns getting and opening a gift. The next morning we ate tamales and went with my mom to open presents with her side of the family. For New Years, part of my family came over and we played music and ate either menudo or posole. Then, when the clock struck 12, we popped our confetti poppers and the balloons and wished everyone a Happy New Year. We stood up until 5am listening to music and telling stories. The rest of the break I stood home catching up on sleep that I had lost the previous days. The last thing I did was Wednesday my family and I went to Culichi Town and ate sea food. On Thursday we went to watch the new movie Insidious The Last Key. It was really good. Last but not least, on Saturday my family and I went to the LA ZOO lights. It looked so nice with everything covered in nothing but sparking lights.
