Electric Vehicles

I think the invention of electric vehicles has both a positive and a negative outcome. Some positive outcomes would be they are environmentally friendly. The electric cars do not through out pollutants from the outside of the car like trucks or regular gas cars. Another benefit from these cars is they are performance benefits. The electric motors provide quiet, smooth operation and stronger acceleration and require less maintenance than internal combustion engines. Some negative outcomes for the electric cars are the driving range. The range for these cars are typically limited to 60-120 miles on a full charge although some other ones are able to go up to 200-300 miles. Another negative outcome is the recharge time. These cars take 4-8 hours to get a full charge.  In addition, battery cost can be quite expensive as well. If something happens to the battery you will have to change it about 2 times when something wrong happens. The weight will also be con because the battery packs used for these cars and heavy and can take up considerable space. Although the many cons, I believe that these cars will be beneficial because there will be less smoke and pollution coming into our area. They are also time consuming so you only have certain time to use this vehicle and once it's over you must go home and recharge it for the next full charge.

The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People

Habit 1. Be Proactive
"Habit 1 is the key to unlocking all the other habits and that's why it comes first. It says, "I am the captain of my life. I can choose my attitude. I'm responsible for my own happiness and unhappiness. I am in the driver's seat of my destiny, not just a passenger."

Being proactive is about taking responsibility for your life. You make all the decisions when it comes to emotions or problems. Proactive people focus on the main things first and then worry about the little things after. If you were to put the little things in life first, then you wouldn't be able to squeeze in all the bigger things in life. You gotta be time managed. Have a schedule or a planner of what first things you need to get done and then if you have time, you will do the little things after.

Habit 2. Begin with the End in Mind
"Control your own Destiny or someone else will." (Jack Welch)

If you don't control your own destiny then other people will think they are able to tell you what to do no matter what. This refers to always keeping the end of your life in mind to help you evaluate everything else that comes before. you will start to make a plan on how you will get to that point in your life. You have to start things with a clear idea of your destination, so the steps you take towards is in the right direction. No matter what, whether you are busy or having second thoughts you should always be doing what's most important to you. You gotta ask yourself questions to determine your objectives and the reasons behind wanting to achieve them. When you know the way your future will look like for you, then you will be so motivated to continue on your dreams to make your future look the way you want it to look. The future is what should motivate you to do better. You are the only one in charge of your destiny and you shouldn't let anyone else control the things you do. As long as you know that you are in the right direction towards your future then don't let anyone else in the way of that. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to ask for help. If you need it you can ask your mom or a close friend to help you get in the right path. If you let all the bad kids tell you what to do then you will be under their spell. The best thing is for you to walk away from the negativity they bring towards you and do better in life.

Habit 3. Put First Things First
"Organize and Execute around properties"
This habit talks about how you should put the urgent things first. For example if you have a test for one of your classes the next day, you should stay home and study for it. You always put what's important first and then do everything else that isn't important after. You may have an essay due but you chose to listen to music, hang out with your friends etc. That's being a procrastinator. You always say you're going to do it but you get busy doing other things that it never gets done.

Habit 4. Think Win-Win
" Think win-win or no-deal"
This habit is talking about how you should always think positive about yourself and never negative. Positive thoughts will help you be successful in life and it will let you know that you are going to achieve all those goals you have set for yourself. If everyone you know is giving you a hard time then ignore them. Don't let their negative comments affect your way of living and succeeding. Just always keep in mind that you can do it or you are going to make it. That will help you stay confident with your school work by just repeating to yourself those words. In the end you will only have yourself and your happiness. You are the only one that knows what you want to do and how you are going to achieve that. You will be the one to pick yourself up every time that you feel like falling and giving up.

Habit 5. Seek first to Understand, then to be Understood
"Diagnose before you Prescribe"

What this habit is talking about is that you must first understand what is going on and then you will be understood by the people. You can't expect for someone to understand what you are teaching them if you don't understand what you are learning. Before you do anything you must stop to think about what you want to do. If someone is talking to you, you should listen to what they have to say and then add after any comments or questions you have for them. Don't interrupt them if you don't know what is really going on. Don't assume someone is doing good because they have a smile on their face. Take the time to understand what people are going through in order for them to understand you. You both can understand each other by listening first and then talking after. Before you criticize someone, wait until they tell you the whole story. In life there is always going to be a "listen before you speak," a "try before you want to quit" etc. You must know how to do the things before you want to jump into conclusions and judge someone by the outside. Don't judge a book by it's cover will take you a long way. You learn how to take the time to get to know someone without being judgemental.

Habit 6. Synergize
"The whole is greater than the sum of its parts."

To put it simply, synergy means "two heads are better than one." Synergize is the habit of creative cooperation. It is teamwork, open-mindedness, and the adventure of finding new solutions to old problems. But it doesn't just happen on its own. It's a process, and through that process, people bring all their personal experience and expertise to the table. Together, they can produce far better results that they could individually. Synergy lets us discover jointly things we are much less likely to discover by ourselves. It is the idea that the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. One plus one equals three, or six, or sixty--you name it.

Habit 7. Sharpen the Saw
Four Dimensions of Self-Renewal: Physical, Mental, Spiritual, Social/Emotional.

Habit 7 is all about keeping your personal self sharp so that you can better deal with life. It means regularly renewing and strengthening the four key dimensions of your life which are your body, brain, heart, and soul. Balance is always better and neglecting certain areas of your life could result in detrimental consequences. To perform at your peak, you need to strive for balance in all four areas. This is so critical and so vital because the quality of one dimension of life ultimately affects the other three. Additionally, you regularly need time to rejuvenate the best thing you've got going for yourself - you. Sharpening the Saw is all about relaxing and unstringing your bow.  Sharpen the Saw keeps you fresh so you can continue to practice the other six habits. You increase your capacity to produce and handle the challenges around you. Without this renewal, the body becomes weak, the mind mechanical, the emotions raw, the spirit insensitive, and the person selfish.

 Final Reflection
These 7 habits are a good way to help better myself. These 7 habits will help me get through life because I know now that I need them to help keep an open mind. For as long as I shall live I will remember to always be proactive. I will show my fellow workers that I know how to take responsibility for my life. I will face challenging moments with the help of them but mostly myself. I will always think about the end so I know where exactly I want to end up doing with my life. No matter how bumpy my road may be, I will always think win-win. I will be confident in what I do. If at first I don't succeed, I will learn the mistakes I did wrong and better myself more. I will seek to understand what I need to then seek to be understood. Everyday of my life I will synergize will my peers and show teamwork together. Finally, I will Sharpen the Saw. Meaning I will keep my body, mind, heart, and soul in balance to help get myself through life. I will always keep myself relaxed and not stressed.
